Character Details

	Background
Thalyra meaning Protector of the pack. Thalyra was only young (2 or 3) when he was taken to the Jedi temple. Unlike his fellow younglings he was not peacefully given to the Jedi but instead rescued by them. Thalyra does not remember the account well but can piece together what happened by fractured memories and logs from the master who saved him. Shistavanen culture is isolationists to say the least, so it was rare to find any outside their home system, let alone across the galaxy exploring, yet this seemed to be the case. little is known about why, but it seems a militant fraction on the outer edges of wild space attacked the vessel leading to a number of its crew escaping in life pods. Thalyra was found alone left in the pod by a Chadra-Fan Jedi. his logs stated: "Jedi Master Yasta responding to a distress call from the Shistavanen ship 'lost claw'. the ship is badly damaged and not life signs detected onboard. it's escape pod has been launched and tracked to the northern hemisphere on a small lush island covered in swamp and jungle. Upon landing and making my way through the heavy brush and its rather unfriendly inhabitants I was able to find the crews lone survivor, a small infant with the name Thalyra written on its crib. Further investigation has found the remains of what could be the child's parents. A male Shistavanen was found close by dead and badly wounded from what appears to be a mix of the impact of crashing and bite/ claw markings. it seems whatever attacked him was chased off before the male succumbed to his injuries. His body lay fallen across what seemed to be a fresh grave, which I have left its occupant to rest in peace. The child seems in good health and a connected to both the world around it and strangely me through the force. I recommend he be taken to the temple to undergo observation and training." end log. Thalyra would spend the next 10 years learning at the temple, most notable enjoying time spent outdoors on planets covered in life on field trips. As he grew many of his fellow younglings would be taken as Jedi padawans but Thalyra would not be chosen. At 14 he would be brought before the council of reassignment and be sent to the exploration corps were his abilities could be best used. It was noted that "the force chooses paths for us that we do not always consider for ourselves and that the path to becoming a Jedi is not always what we expect. Take heed youngling and let the force guide you as your future has much potential but much uncertainty." In time Thalyra would learn to love his time in exploration. He was on the frontier of the galaxy and discovering its many hidden secrets, especially those in connection to the force. Sadly all good things come to an end and so to did his adventures. The call came through and the explore corps were recalled as war had broken out and the Jedi were needed to maintain peace and order. He watched as his friend went off to lead armies fight for justice, were as he was reassigned to the education corps. Leading field trips and being a babysitter and although this felt like yet another reminder that he had failed, this would be what saved his life when order 66 would be made. The days leading up to order 66 was peaceful enough, count Dooku was dead, and the war looked like it was coming to an end. Thalyra was tasked with being part of a field trip for younglings. The crew consisted of 2 masters, their padawans, 10 younglings and 10 of those who were educational corps members assigned to help teach and care for the others. All were being ferried by a Arquitens-class light cruiser called "Side Swipe". It was run with a diminished crew of 10 clone bridge officers and the squad of 30 troopers for any need support, as well as various droids to maintain the ship. The masters were leading a lesson in meditation when they became disorientated and seemed confused. They emanated fear and pain, yet nothing had happened. As Thalyra and the rest rushed to attend to them all could feel the ship drop out of hyperspace and before anyone could even react the doors opened and the clones, that had been trusted with the lives of the Jedi, opened fire on all in the room. Master Shoown, a male Rodian, was instantly killed by the oncoming blaster bolts, Master Ruu Uban, an Ithorian female, was able to let out a bellow pushing the troopers back while the 2 padawans closed the door and disabled the controls temporarily. surveying the carnage, she noticed her fellow master and friend dead increasing her fear but inciting some anger but this was nothing compared to what she would feel on turning back to see that her class had also suffered casualties, 6 or the 10 younglings dead and 1 wounded badly as she rushed to try and heal the young human child, she could feel his life draining away, with no medical droids in the room and the dark side of the force clouding her mind, she struggled to use her force heal ability, the more she felt the life draining from the youngling the more she struggled to use her healing. Frustration grew as the child passed, as the last breath left his body, darkness was felt emanating from Master Ruu. As she lay the body on the ground, you could feel the air rushing past and going into the lungs of the Master. Her eyes narrowed and focused on the door to which a number of clones had stood behind, trying to brake through, although they would not be the ones to brake the door. Master Ruu using a mix of her natural ability and channeling the darkside of the force she released a bellow so destructive the door and walls around it bent and shattered outwards, crushing and ripping apart the clones behind it. drawing her lightsaber she would start her march onward to destroy all clones for their treason and murder of her friend and students, her padawan would leaping forward to try and reason with his master, this would be his last mistake. In her rage she would blindly swing her blade at the one moving towards her striking him down in one blow, this was the last time Thalyra would see master Ruu. As Ruu moved further from her class the more damage she would do so the ship, destroying vital systems in her rage and quest for vengeance. Uncontrolled she would let out bellows that tore the ship apart from inside out. A former padawan and head of the educational team ordered us to split up and head for the escape pods. He and 8 other failed padawans would take the younglings and the padawan of Master Shoown, a young Selonian named Quova Fluff Li would go with Thalyra and head for a coms array to send out a distress call before also escaping. They would end up having to fight their way through a hand full of clones, in doing so Thalyra would pick up a blaster for the first time and Quova would have her lightsaber destroyed by a stray blaster bolt. Upon arrival at the coms array they find the bodies of 2 clone officers dead from saber wounds. An active message is on repeat, "the Jedi have betrayed the republic, execute order 66 and kill all Jedi" at this point Thalyra and Quova realized they would need to flee and stay hidden until the Jedi could return. As they arrived at the escape pods they would find the other ed corps member dead alone side clones. some from blasters, some from a lightsaber and Master Ruu and the younglings nowhere to be seen. They would take the last pod, it would take them to the planet Aftell which is where they would spend the next years in hiding, relying only on each other and the force. Years would pass and the two would get closer, what was once forbidden by the Jedi would no longer apply to these 2 outcasts. They would eventually marry and focus their time in meditation and training their abilities in the force to survive the wilds and prepare themselves for when they could return to the greater galaxy
	Motivation
Thalyra wants to keep those close to him safe. He failed his Jedi training, he was transferred from the explore corps and his last mission ended with the younglings under his and others care being lost. He wants to prove himself but has been unaware of how to while in hiding. he has waited long enough and it seems the force now pushes him and his wife in a new direction and he will not lose this opportunity to make a difference and show himself a real Jedi. He is determined to be a voice of what is just even if others do not agree with such a voice. The Jedi had made mistakes and allowed themselves to be key members of an unjust war and acted as warriors of the republic rather than peacekeepers of the galaxy. Thalyra knows there will be those who resist the Empire but any who seek evil or to twist the good to promote their cause will face Thalyra for their actions.
