BIO
Born Kedrian Askvinati, he has been living under the assumed name Wulric Cantos for years, chosen from his maternal grandfather Cantos and childhood dog Wulric. His father is half Indian half Scottish, while his mother is half Spanish half Japanese. His Japanese grandmother gifted him the family katana when he showed interest in sword play.
Wulric's parents are from the Moon, but they returned to Earth for his early years to have the protection of magnetosphere and force of gravity to have a healthy boy. They are of decent means, his mother being upper management in a mid-sized corporation that makes mass produces a popular wine-like-drink in a bag. In general his parents are decent people, really nice, and miss him greatly since he fled.
He and his friend Warvis Darrick were close for years, their mothers being coworkers in the corporation. Both assumed they would join the company like their parents, and were in elite schools together. Both became interested in Ancient Tech, starting to experiment with different pieces they'd take from various company lockdowns. They excelled in school, Wulric taking interest in Computers and Mechanics to help understand ancient tech. The two were co-captains of the High School Sword Dueling Club as well. One day they tried to hack into a particular relic they "borrowed"...when they triggered something.
Nanites flooded forth from a seemingly ruined container and latched onto them both, heeding their commands. At first they had little control over them, but they more they studied the Ancients, learning details about them, the more the nanites programming made sense. Thus, the more they learned, the more they could control them.
After a couple years of keeping their powers a secret, they had a falling out, with Warvis wanting to take their powers and use them to gain power. He started roughing up mob enforcers and running his own crew. They had a fight using their Nanite powers, destroying the section of the Moon base they were living in. Wulric unleashed his a powerful lightning strike on Warvis, but couldn't kill his friend. He healed him just enough not to die, still leaving the scars across his body from the electrocution, then fled.
Understanding what could happen to him if a corporation or the authorities got ahold of him, Wulric fled and stowed away on a ship to Ceres were he was hanging out ever since, living on streets and drifting from place to place, never settling down long enough to be recognized. He occasionally hacks in to check on his family, but otherwise they assume he is dead. However, he did take one thing of his family's with him, his great-grandfather's katana as one last link to his past.
Using his hacking knowledge and mechanics to make cash, he works as a means to keep looking into Ancient Tech and expanding his powers. Wulric did discover his abilities allow him to essentially change shape, leading him to spend time in University to learn biology of various animals he might wish to understand. He is especially found of birds.
In the back of his mind he knows the Warvis is still out there, probably up to no good. He fears meeting his friend again, but fears more what could happen if more people end up with these abilities. If that day comes, he hopes to be the dominant one.
Now posing as an expert on Ancient Learning from Earth, he has a deal to go on Gregor's Expedition with the assumption he will find some sort of ancient tech for The University in return. He of course is hoping to find plenty for himself as well...
